Book Name- Corpokshetra Mahabharata in the MBA yug

BLURB-
The Pandavas have returned home after 13 years of exile. And they are demanding their stake in Hastinapur Inc.

But the Kauravas, led by the haughty Duryodhana, aren’t ready to give them a penny. The battle lines are drawn, only this war is in the present-day Kurukshetra - the corporate boardroom.

As the Kauravas and the Pandavas don their sharpest suits, Krishna - the wily Consultant - strategies for peace.

This is a humorous, modern take on the Mahabharata (with due apologies to Rishi Ved Vyas).

An epic story retold for the MBA generation.

REVIEW- We all have heard stories of Mahabharata all through our childhood from parents, grandparents. The plot and story is not new to us. However Deepak Kaul through his debut book 'Corpokshetra' brings us 21st century corporate world Mahabharata.

Book Title and Cover- Book Title is interesting and appropriate with the content. Book Cover is catchy. It shows characters of Mahabharata with bat and golf sticks and Krishna with a key. Blurb is simple. All in all first impression of the book is interesting and builds curiosity about the book.

Language and Narration- Language of the book is inviting. Even new readers will find this book easy to read. Narration is decent and fruitful. Story flows smoothly. One liners in the book are worth noting.

Few one liners which i liked

• Facts are facts. They are like karma. You cannot challenge them.
OR Things should be decided where it mattered most.

• It was at times like these that Karna was caught between the devil (Duryodhana) and the deep blue sea (Krishna, the ocean of knowledge).

Storyline and Plot- Mr. Kaul has beautifully penned down the plot of Modern Mahabharata. The game of dice gives way for poker, cricket and golf. The characters drink whiskey and gin. Instead of Sun god, a famous film star called Big C. Characters are justified properly. At the end of the book author gives us some important lessons from Maharashtra which are worth learning.

I enjoyed my time reading this book. However there are few faults which should be consider in next edition of the book.
1. Unnecessary use of Sanskrit salutations like Bhrata, Pitashree etc.

2. The book becomes boring after a certain point due to forced humor.

RATINGS-
Book Title and Cover- 3.5/5
Language and Narration- 4/5
Storyline and Plot- 3/5

Final Rating- 3.5/5

Overall Corpokshetra is brilliant book. I would recommend this book to people in corporate world.
