Blurb- Quite early in his life, Aman had been labelled a 'weirdo'. His side-parted, oil soaked hair and gawky physique made him the butt of jokes among his peers. There is nothing spectacular in his life—he studies all day, has never had an interaction with a girl that lasted more than five minutes, and scribbles his inner musings into his best friend, a personal diary.
Deep down, however, the guilt of being considered a social killjoy by the society starts to have a negative impact on him.
When forced out of his solitary shell into the action-infused warehouse that is 'college', Aman's life takes a drastic U-Turn. Owing to a Chemistry project, he is forced to partner up with Kiara—a cheerful, carefree soul who tucks away her dark, brooding past upon arriving in Manipal.
What follows is a series of awkward encounters and quirky adventures; ones that throw them in the deep end and make them face their worst fears.
Review- The Letters in the Rain is second novel by Anubhav Shrivastava. After reading his first novel "One Last Time" which was absolutely brilliant, my hopes were high from this one and i found this novel satisfying my expectations.
Book Title and Cover- Starting my review with the book title, it is appropriate with the content. Subtitle and Cover are beautiful and gives us hint about the story. Blurb is short and could be improved.
All in all, First Impression of book attracts readers.
Language and Narration- Language of this book is simple yet impressive. Narrating style is decent and together with pace, story flow is effortless.
Characterization- All the characters of story are defined well. The transformation of talented and shy Aman (main protagonist of our story) is done very well.
Storyline and Plot- Author has amazing storytelling skills which i am sure you'll feel while reading this book. All the college scenes are written brilliantly. The balance between past and present story is good. With all the unexpected twists and turns and smooth storyline, author serves another brilliant book and entertain his readers thoroughly.
